My interim Solutions for Samsung Gear S3 no full charge & overheating (while charging) issues.

I got my Samsung Gear S3 Frontier about 2 weeks ago.
I have the same issue like others have posted online, after updating to Tizen 3.0.0.1.

Two problems I faced:
1. Gear S3 unable to get to 100% charge.
2. Gear S3 overheating when charging. It shows a notification of "overheating" on the screen, and said that need to cool down.

I communicated with Samsung Customer Service last week, provided the person all the information on my Gear S3 Frontier.
The solutions given was to factory reset the Gear S3 & try again.
I have reset it twice, but unable to resolve these issues still.

But I found an interim solution to get my Gear S3 Frontier to full charge.
Here is what I do:

When I want to charge my Gear S3 Frontier, I turned my Gear S3 to airplane mode

Tried it since last week. In 3 occassions, I can get to 100% charge without getting the overheating notification.

However, in one other occassion, when my Gear S3 got to 100% under airplane mode, the overheating notification does pop up.

Well, out of 2 problems, I guess I manage to solve 1, that is to get to 100% charge.

I am still observing it this method is workable.  But I thought that I could get a better user experience by sharing with others.
It would be good to hear from you if this method works for you for all these 2 problems:

1. Full charge of Gear S3
2. Overheating of Gear S3

My explanation:
If I am charging my Gear S3 while I am moving around, my Gear S3 is continuously scanning for my phone, and also receiving signal via GPS, Bluetooth & WiFi. So it is still doing a lot of work in the background.

Why airplane mode:

Turns off all tranceiving & receiving of signals. Minimize the stress to the Gear S3.

Logically, when I am charging my Gear S3, I will not be wearing it. So, no harm turning to Airplane mode temporarily. A bit troublesome, but for me, it solves the problem of not getting to 100% charge.

On the other hand, I do believe the overheating notification serves as a notification to internal (to the Gear S3 itself) & external (to users) to stop the charging process due to whatever reasons. It might be a safety feature. I can live with it!

Just my 2 cents personal opinions to share.

Would appreciate if you could please share your feedback & thoughts.

Thanks.

From, Ronald
